Climate Change Imperative

Global warming and climate change pose a critical threat, demanding a collective response to transition to a net zero carbon future.

India’s Net Zero Goal

Aligned with the Paris Agreement, India has set an ambitious target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070.

Intermediate Target

To expedite progress, India aims for a 45% reduction in the emission intensity of GDP by 2030 compared to 2005 levels.

Project Implementation Gap

India has under 2000 carbon neutral projects, out of which 80% are in energy. This highlights the need for innovation and green jobs in the upcoming sustainable industrial revolution.

Empowering India’s Green Future

Master Green Credits & Minimize Carbon Footprints

The Government of India has taken significant strides towards promoting environmental sustainability through two key initiatives:

Green Credit Program (GCP)

Launched in October 2023 (notification CGDL-E-13102023-249377), this program incentivizes organizations to undertake eco-friendly activities. By rewarding green development efforts, the GCP aims to create a market-based mechanism that fosters sustainable practices.

Draft Environment Audit Notification

Issued in January 2024 (CG-DL-E-02022024-251722), this draft notification emphasizes establishing a framework for environmental auditing. This aligns with the government’s vision of Environmental, Social, and Gov ernance (ESG) practices, Sovereign Green Bonds, and Climate Trading.
