The aim of Net Zero Carbon is to achieve a state where the overall amount of greenhouse gases emitted by a particular entity, such as a country, company, or individual, is equal to the amount removed or offset. This is done to mitigate the impact of human activities on climate change.
The world increasingly suffers with the repercussions of greenhouse emissions and its subsequent impact on climate change. In such case there is a dire need to strive a balance between emitted and removed carbon, while aiming to curb the rise in global temperatures, mitigate the intensity of extreme weather events, and protect vulnerable ecosystems. This urgent need became the primary focus of the Paris Agreement in 2016.
In accordance to the Paris Agreement, India has announced the definite goal to reach Net Zero Carbon Emissions by the year 2070. This goal led for some of the India’s biggest companies, including Reliance Industries (RIL), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Wipro, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, JSW Energy, ITC, Adani, Dalmia Cement, and Indian Railways to declare net-zero targets.These companies plan to achieve net zero targets in the next 2 decades. These ambitious goals not only address the urgent need to reduce our environmental impact but also present economic opportunities and fosters innovation.
As a result of the same, the Government of India is releasing notifications which define clearly the new initiatives and policies being undertaken for reaching the goal of carbon neutrality.
This course is specifically designed with the government notifications and policies in consideration to equip professionals and students with the the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to navigate the complexities of achieving net zero carbon emissions. – 24 Hours program for Upper Management Professionals with over 10 years of experience. - “Executive Program in Net Zero Carbon: Gateway to Green Credits and Carbon Credits”
– 42 Hours program for Postgraduate/ Research Candidates (STEM Background) - “Introduction in Net Zero Carbon: Gateway to Green Credits and Carbon Credits”.
– 45 Hours program for Undergraduate Candidates (STEM Background)
